"Te Whare Nukunuku" Tiny House

A ‘home-away-from-home’, Te Whare Nukunuku (The Moving House), was built for a couple who’s jobs can have them located all over the country. Having a tiny house on wheels means that when away from their home base, they can set up camp in style with all the creature comforts of home. When it’s not being used for work accommodation, the couple plan to use it as a holiday home on their family section. We anticipate this tiny house will be seen out and about on the roads more often than the average tiny home as it moves about the country to suit the shifting needs of its owners.

The design is based off of a previous build of ours called ‘The Camper’. The client liked how portable it was, and loved the clever retractable bed system. The queen size bed platform is secured above the couch when not in use, but can be lowered down over the couch to ground level, or set up as bunks with the couch below converting into a bed too. They chose to alter the design slightly by adding in an additional metre of length. This gave space for a bigger bathroom, and a slighter bigger lounge area.
