"La Sombra" Tiny House

This very special tiny house has become the home for a lovely mother (Tash) and her three children. Throughout the planning stages, there were huge levels of excitement to see the house progress from plans to a finished home. The home is based on our Baxter tiny house layout (minus a few windows) and has the addition of a very cute Spiraloc fireplace to warm the home. A clothes airer on a pully was supplied by the client for us to install, it's a clever feature that makes use of the vertical space, and being near the fire it will do an excellent job drying clothes in the winter. Built onto one of our standard detachable trailers, this house has been built right up to the 3500kg weight limit. There are numerous items that must be removed for travel on the road such as appliances and some furniture. With a fully off-grid solar set up, this house can go almost anywhere!

Uniquely, this tiny house was featured on TV3's "Moving out with Kanoa" on the 21st of November 2019. You can watch the full episode here and meet the wonderful family that now calls this tiny house 'home'. The show covers delivery and set up, as well as Tash and her family's first few visits to see us during the design and build process. During the show, Tash talked about how and why she came to choose to build her custom tiny house with us, and we were chuffed with her response: “I found one particular builder who’s designs just really resonated with me, and what really blew me away was how much time they put into getting every last little bit of space out of their designs”.
